Przyjaciele z Montany
Wyjeżdżając z Yellowstone na północ znaleźliśmy się w Montanie. Cały czas kierowaliśmy się w górę mapy, w stronę Kanady, po drodze zahaczając o kolejny cud natury jakim jest Narodowy Park Glacier. Trochę mieliśmy do przejechania, gdyż powierzchnia Montany jest większa niż powierzchnia Polski. Zatrzymaliśmy się na nocleg w pobliżu Butte. Fajne miejsce na polanie w lesie, okazało się, że jest również popularne wśród miejscowych. Rozbiliśmy obóz na uboczu, tylko na jedną noc. Po jakimś czasie zostaliśmy zaproszeni przez biwakującą obok rodzinę do ich ogniska. I tak zaczęła się nasza znajomość z Rodziną Snyder, w składzie: Dziadek Wes, Babcia Shirley, Mama Diane, Tata Skip, Syn Jacob, Córka Sasha i Natasha i pięć psów. Nocne rozmowy przy ognisku o Ameryce, o Europie, o polityce, o historii, o życiu. Następnego dnia rano, Diane poczęstowała nas lokalnymi przysmakami z cukierni. Palce lizać. I zostaliśmy obdarowani kocami własnoręcznie przez nią przygotowanymi. Byliśmy zaskoczeni i onieśmieleni. Dziadek Wes dał szybki kurs obsługi broni palnej i Sergio po raz pierwszy w życiu strzelał z pistoletu, kaliber 22.
Z przyczyn technicznych zdecydowaliśmy się pozostać na kolejną noc. Podczas wyważania kół w naszym pojeździe, pojechaliśmy zobaczyć wotum, które mieszkańcy Butte ustawili na okolicznej górze. Jest to monument przedstawiający Maryję, a dedykowany wszystkim kobietom, a w szczególności matkom.
Kolejnego wieczoru zostaliśmy zaproszeni na grilla i wieczór przeciągnął się do nocy. Tego dnia Diane przywiozła trzymiesięczne szczeniaki – Tygryska (Tiger) and Winstona. Marzena prawie porwała jednego z nich.
Usterka w samochodzie jednak okazała się poważna i „zmuszeni” byliśmy pozostać w Butte jeszcze parę dni. Nasi nowi przyjaciele użyczyli nam trawnika i swojego domu. Wykąpani (potrzebowaliśmy zdecydowanie prysznica) i najedzeni pojechaliśmy z Diane i jej córką do kina. Ale do jakiego kina! do kina pod chmurką. Dla Marzeny był to pierwszy raz, Sergio powrócił do wspomnień z dzieciństwa. Warto nadmienić, że obiekt ten funkcjonuje od 1978 roku i wciąż jest prowadzony przez tę samą rodzinę.
Spędziliśmy jeszcze dwa dni z w Butte rozpieszczani przez Diane i Skipa. Naprawa samochodu okazała się na tyle poważna, że zostaliśmy skierowani do innego warsztatu.

Diane, Skip, Jake, Sasha, Dziadek Wes i Babcia Shirley oraz wszyscy pozostali członkowie rodziny, których poznaliśmy,
Jeszcze raz dziękujemy za ciepłe przyjęcie, wszelką pomoc i gościnę. Zawsze pozostaniecie w naszej pamięci. Nie ma to jak gościnność w Butte, w Montanie.

Some things turn around for a lifetime. I didn’t know each other at first, but finally I didn’t know each other. If love is just passing by, why bother here. Some love, had to settle each other, suddenly looking back, I can no longer tell.
