Zatoka Meksykańska
Kontynujemy dalej nasz przejazd na wschód, w kierunku zatoki meksykańskiej. Pierwszym celem jest Tuxpan, gdzie mamy się spotkać z Ze Paulo, naszym znajomym jeszcze z czasów pracy w Polsce. Nie obyło się również bez przygód. Jadąc już promenadą w Tuxpan, w kierunku campingu, zatrzymała nas straż miejska. Popełnione wykroczenie: jazda po centrum miasta samochodem ciężarowym, samochodem z ładunkiem. Probujemy tłumaczyć, że to tylko namiot na dachu, nic nie transportujemy. Nieugięty strażnik chce pieniędzy (manadat jakoś jest mniej istotny). 5000 pesos, czyli około 900 PLN. No nic, parskneliśmy śmiechem, że takich pięniędzy nie mamy i chcemy jechać na komisariat. Strażnik na to zbladł i ostrzegł nas, że tam to już będzie manadat za 12000 pesos i prawo jazdy nam zabiorą. Pan się dwoił i troił, żeby nam pomóc i proponował wypłatę z bankomatu, przelew na konto, rozmowę z “komendantem przez telefon” etc. My cierpliwie wykazywaliśmy swoje ubóstwo; UMM jak najbardziej jest przygotowany do odgrywania tej roli; pociliśmy się nieziemsko zamknięci w skrzynce w pełnym słońcu i po godzinie nic nie wskórania pozwolił nam odjechać. A my dotarliśmy na miejsce i spotkaliśmy się z Ze.
Dia dos Muertos postanowliśmy spędzić w Vera Cruz. Jest to bardzo ważne swięto z 3000 lat tradycją. Może wydawać się upiorne, bo pełne jest czaszek, szkieletów i ogólnych odwołań do śmierci, ale nic mylnego. Jest to święto czczące więzy rodzinne i pamięć o przodkach. Groby są sprzątne, przyozdabiane kwiatami (głównie aksamitkami), a ponad to niczym stoły zastawiane jedzeniem i piciem, a nawet zabawkami. W niektórych miejscach kości zmarłych są wyjmowane i czyszczone z pietyzmem.
W Vera Cruz spędziliśmy parę dni na poznawaniu miasta i histori Meksyku w pigułce. Zwiedziliśmy muzeum miejskie i niesamowicie nowoczesne Muzeum Morskie.
Okazuje się, że w Vera Cruz można usłyszeć język polski, za sprawą dwóch uroczych marynarzy – Kacpra i Oscara, na których wpadliśmy przypadkiem na głównym placu. Z braku wspólnego zdjęcia poprosiłam o podesłanie swoich. Ahoj chłopaki!
A teraz już prosto na Jukatan, w świat Majów.
